Ymddiried’s Contribution: £30,000
Thanks to Ymddiried’s generous support of £30,000 across 2024 and 2026, Cardiff Animation Festival has delivered two years of tailored professional development for emerging creative talent in Wales, alongside an extensive public programme of industry masterclasses and learning opportunities.
Across the two years, the programme has:
- Supported 10 emerging creatives through bespoke placements, one-to-one mentoring, practical training and industry experience;
- Delivered over 60 individual mentoring sessions, alongside CV workshops, professional introductions and collaborative projects;
- Connected all 10 participants, all of whom identified as neurodivergent or disabled, with established industry professionals working in their areas of interest;
- Delivered 20 public masterclasses, talks and industry sessions, reaching a combined total of 1,302 attendances;
- Supported participants to progress into employment, further education, volunteering and the establishment of their own creative organisations.
The programme has been particularly successful in supporting young people who face additional barriers to entering the creative industries, helping them develop confidence, professional networks and practical experience in an accessible and supportive environment.
