Grant awarded to: Branwen Davies
Ymddiried’s Contribution: £250
In the spring of 2025, I was fortunate enough to secure a place on Rondo Media’s New Writers’ Development Course, and subsequently received financial support of £250 from Ymddiried.
Initially, no specific structure had been outlined for the course; ultimately, it comprised a mix of face-to-face sessions in Llangefni and online sessions, covering various aspects of drama creation, from writing and structuring to securing funding and addressing legal matters.
The first component was an intensive and inspiring five-day course in Llangefni led by writer John Vorhaus, which focused on the process of writing drama and comedy. This was followed by a series of online sessions featuring contributors such as Ciron Gruffydd, Ynyr Williams and Sion Clwyd, and the programme concluded with a two-day, in-person course, joined by Jeremy Davies and others via an online link.
